According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in 2010 there were more than 208,000 non-fatal cases of falls involving days away from work in the United States. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), in 2008, the average cost for a slip/trip/fall claim was $21,500. While these losses are often perceived to be uncontrollable, employers can do many things to manage these types of claims.
